This is the computer forecast for Benicia (bad direction unfortunately), but assume Folsom and Thermalito may be good for this.... ?

I wonder what a side / side-off with 6-8ft waves at OB would be like... my forecasts also show big time gusts. clearing winds MJ0_

I can tell you what it's like to kitesurf a side/off day at Linda Mar in big waves - but haven't experienced OB yet in those conditions. Well, only one way to find out! (disclaimer: please be careful if you try, it can get extremely dangerous and is generally not recommended)

Yeah, I was gonna ask where to go for this wind direction.
I guess I will start at 3rd and go from there.

a couple buddies and i scouted the pinole/hercules shoreline yesterday. it looked kiteable in a few spots, but due mainly to testicular deficiencies none of us felt compelled to pump up.

anyone have any experience up that way?

Hahaha. I was out there friday morning. I went to those two parks. Maybe a little more doable with some more east in the flow. True north is strait onshore of some tidal mudflats out to 200 yards. The park by the water treatment plant has huge wind shadow that makes a launch on the grass difficult. The park to the north (on santa fe and railroad) same story but not as bad. Ony downside is the sketchy 150 yd walk to the water crossing operational railroad tracks with amtrack trains flying by. But hey, the wind looked pretty good out there if u could get out. Launching near waters edge is possible, but any small mishap and theres a high probability of thrashing your kite. No good place for self launch/land. Solo trip would be tough; if someone else was with me yesterday i probably would have gone. The launch and landing is why i said no.

I'm in for the next north wind...
