The season for Sherman is over ! North wind is not recommend or safe at Sherman.

There will be a few days in the next couple weeks, that locals can hit, but if you are not already there, by the time you drive there it will be over, very short periods of usable wind that come up fast and leave the same way.

Sorry.

SUP and Surf season is here.

Agree with what's been posted. You can score sessions almost all winter somewhere but it is really nuanced in terms of exact spots on exact days and takes a lot of trial & error to really know where to go and when. For example there is a spot that works on a NE with two launches only about 1/4 mile apart where one side will work and the other won't depending on the slightest nuances in the wind.. Good luck!

The Parking lot is closed because of the budget SNAFU in Congress, you need too hike it in.

Not recommended unless you have allot of local Crissy water time, flood current needed on a NE wind and that wind is very unreliable. do not go near the bridge or out past the bridge, you will not be able to come back because of wind shadow. Just ride in front of the beach.

Danger on launching and landing do to wind direction leaves you with not much room between the water and parking lot.

A crew from third ave came through a couple years ago and all had to be rescued by the coast guard by going out under the bridge. And also flew there kite into the parking lot on a bad launch.

This was not welcome or appreciated. All could have been prevented by asking a real local.
