Folsom in Fall

Post by Yoda » Fri Sep 20, 2013 9:25 pm

I think today was the official first day of the 2013/14 Folsom kite season. I got there a little after 3pm and the wind was light and teasing us with short, on-off sessions. Then it came up really good shortly after 5pm and then it got even better as the sun was descending. It lasted until almost 7pm. I was well powered on my 10.5m and a 5'8 surfboard. I could have been on my twin it was so good.
Bonus - the water temp is 75 degrees. Good times!!! ;-)

I'm using NOAA, but the sensor updates hourly. :-(
Today was a classic Folsom day. Started on my 10.5 and finished on my 8. Good times!!! ;-)

Pretty much blowing all day in Sac. Spent some time late in the afternoon at wake island watersports on my board skills. Neat.

Hi guys. I am living in the sac area and I'm interested in kiting at Folsom! I'm a first year kiter but so far I've had a blast with the sport and I'm lucky enough to have ridden in Maui with great wind conditions! Folsom is a big lake... where do you guys launch? Also, wake island is an awesome spot. I'm looking forward to hearing back and hopefully riding with some of you guys. My friends are too broke and lame to get into this so some kite buddies would be cool too.
