So cool to see progression in the direction of simplicity instead of ever-more complicated and $ tech (foil/race boards)...Looks like it could be a great way to learn strapless tricks in the "kiddie pool" before trying them out in the ocean.

these are cool videos but they're over-building their boards: why does everyone glass them?

there's something really unique about the flex of an alaia. it rides super smooth and allows you to dynamically shape the rocker by where and how you stand on it. wrapping it in glass will rob you of that.

all you need is Paulownia wood and linseed oil. no glass, no wax

granted i don't do airs with mine, but i don't think that's where alaias excel. get a skim board for the skate stuff. riding alaia is all about the flex.
