Watch out for these guy's that buy old c kites and show up at your spot, and decide that today is good day to try this shit out./ Almost took out my boy, but nice enough to help him wrap it up and encourage a lesson!

Ouch, lucky no rocks there
Good idea to be proactive when newbies on vintage gear show up at your site

Re: Watch out for these guy's
Unless if the guy almost took your friend out, I am having a hard time seeing exactly what this guy's did wrong beyond of crashing a kite.
That's a completely wide open spot on sand with no rocks.
You can not see what's to the left of the frame, but everything upwind looks ideal for launching a new setup. Assuming the gear that's upwind of where everyone is in the picture is this guy's's, then he had approximately 5 kite lines of space between himself and your grounded kite.
Seems to me like an ideal place to try to fly a new kite.
The only problem here is if this guy's never flew any kites and was out here by himself trying to do this, which in this case beyond this guy's, the blame would fall on the individual who sold this guy an outdated kite without bothering to see what this guy's's technical flying skills are.
