Sherman 4th of July Week

Post by Bulldog » Fri Jun 28, 2013 9:50 am

Hey just a heads up to Bayareans that everyone's favorite 4th of July getaway will be a sweaty windless oven next week.

A massive high pressure system is locking down over the valley and the Delta Breeze is going to get stomped out. You might get an hour or two of light wind in the evening, but days will be broiling. NWS is saying nighttime temps might even stay in the 80s next week in the valley.

Disclaimer: I am not trying to scare people away from my favorite spot. I have only kited at Sherman once in the last two years. If you don't believe me, check out the excessive heat warning here: http://www.wunderground.com/US/CA/017.html#HEA

It is going to suck. It hasn't been this hot since 2007. The only place in Cali where it won't be stupidly hot is...yup, you guessed it. The Bay Area.

Hey Yoda,
Does that map on your icon actually have LA included as part of North California? Is it just based on political party or what? If we're going to all the trouble of separating the state, I don't see why anyone in Norcal would want to the map drawn that way.

I would even propose West California and East California

East Cal would obviously keep Orange County and maybe even SD too
