While I didn't know him well, I came to know Curt (Rich) from his smiling face during the dawn patrol at Sherman. He seemed to march to his own drummer and was a very kind soul. We'd chat back and forth as we'd walk (slowly, due to his limp) down the path to pump up and launch at the beach. It's haunting to think that I just saw him recently during such a morning. It's a great reminder to live every day...
Someone said he was found waiting for wind at the beach launch at Sherman on Tuesday. RIP buddy. Nice exit.
RIP Curtis. He couldn't have asked for a better spot to go out at. I hope I'm as lucky.
It's nice to see his happy face instead of what I see everyday now and probably will for the rest of my life.
Take a moment to tell your loved ones, you love them, before you go kiting next time. You never know if its going to be your last session.
Much love to all of his family and friends.
