Re: Crissy...trouble in paradise
I have been kiting for over 12 years and I'm still scared to kite Crissy. Kiting Crissy never gets old and hope to kite there more often.

Re: Crissy...trouble in paradise
The sensor was taken out by a guy on a 12m red with green stripes Slingshot Fuel and he did not self rescue and was picked up by the coast guard near angel island. Must have lost his twin tip too.
Oh and it was 9m wind and flooding 3 knots.
I am sure he was freaking out and shook up and knows he really f-cked up !

We are disappointed to report that the number of Kiteboarders being rescued by the USCG at Crissy Field is on the rise. There are a lot of new Kiters venturing out, some without proper education and guidance about the local conditions, and requiring rescues that could be avoided.
We ask the local community to be proactive---step up to greet new Kiters and share your local knowledge. If anyone is in doubt - don't go out!

iKitesurf is definitely not happy about this either, as they've made it clear that the repair is not a trivial task.
"Note: Due to an out-of-control kite the Crissy Anita Rock sensor will be out of commission until we can get Coast Guard permission, then fly in a repair crew, charter a boat on a calm day and attempt to repair the mast. This is the second time this has happened."
