3rd Ave Upper Launch Sandbags

Post by jsin138 » Mon Apr 15, 2013 6:26 pm

I've noticed the sandbag situation is rather meager, so I'm gonna hook it up. I'm at 3rd now with some new bags. How many do we want?

Oh man, as many possible. Thanks! They are sorely needed.

Would be awesome if we could sort out some kind of an easier way to enter/exit the mud when it's low tide. I'm getting somewhat tired of having my fiancee pick ii() out of my feet after poking them on who knows what in the mud slide out to kitable water.

3rd Ave Upper Launch Sandbags

No problem. I scattered 20 new bags around the launch area & cleaned up the old weathered paper weights. I've got a bunch more empty bags in my truck if we need more.

I used fresh, glass free sand. The amount of glass in the sand around the launch area is troubling. I spent some time picking up the glass there last week, not sure if I made a dent.

We should do something like a BBQ / Swap Meet / Clean-Up deal. Is anything like that being planned? Ideas about low tide mud access could be shared/worked on then, too.

Jason,
Thanks for the new sandbags!

I try to police the glass I see it when I am there, but a time where a few guys got together for a coordinated effort sounds worthwhile to me.

You're a saint, Jason.

Despite the occasional douche that throws a kite instead of launching it, kiteboarders are some of the greatest people I've met, at least here in the Bay Area.

Yeah, it is guys like Jason that make this sport fun and worthwhile to learn.

I don't kite at 3rd ave. often , but when I do , really appreciate the sandbags
