Matanzas, Chile

Just got back from a trip to Chile and found a really cool spot in Matanzas.....a little hotel/restaurant that caters to surfers/Sup/windsurfers/kiters......right at the spot. They rent wetsuits/boards but didn't have much kiting stuff for rent, although there's another place you can rent equipment about 10 minutes down the road.

The spot itself is a left breaking off a rocky bar into sand........inside is 100% sand. Wind was really super punchy the day I was out (0-30) but I guess it's usually just kind of gusty, not as extreme as it was the day I was there. The setup was really good, sideshore with the waves protected so pretty smooth.

There's not much else there.....it's about 2 hours out of Santiago, about an hour north of Pichilemu.

If you ever go to Chile, worth checking out for a day or 2........
