Ruben Lenten is an epic douche for doing this and also for posting the video online.

Lame. Lenten can be pretty immature sometimes, one day he will be an adult and be more respectful. I don't think a stranded whale is a spectacle for him to publicize his riding, or viewing of or whatever.

Aw man. That's not cool at all, considering what ended up happening to the whale:

Although the video is from the moment he discovered the whale, so maybe the kid did not know the gravity of the situation.

I've found Lenten to be a pretty stand up guy. It's pretty clear from his FB page he found the whale while shooting a vid and called in help. I don't think he was trying to use it to his advantage quite the contrary it seems he was trying to draw attention to the issue to help out the whale.

Jumping the whale: Animal Rights activist worst nightmare, or best aerial recon for rescue attempts ever? You decide:

Activist: Grumpy as ever due to a recent diet of organic veganism after submitting to the latest granola loving fad for strung out omnivores. This sample sees this as disturbing the whale, endangering it's safety, and 'freaking it the @@ck out.

Recon: Super talented kite surfer sees an opportunity to avoid motorized boats, remove the need for a helicopter, or in any way need to use large, loud, extremely disturbing man made machines. The kiter knows how to jump big, clearly able to clear the whale with ease. The whale probably doesn't even notice the kiter approaching as the slap of the waves beat it to death on the sand bar.

Judge Judy decides

Recon, having a kite board go around or even over a whale is far less traumatic than having whale watching boats with motors running buzzing all around the whales and hitting them with propellers. Certainly not the reason the whale ended up on the beach. I blame it on the snowy plovers!
