Post by adamT » Wed Dec 05, 2012 7:30 pm

I have friends staying at Baja Joes, but they now have no rooms
Any suggestions where else I should look at that is close...
One place was Kurt and marina's.

Thanks,
Adam

La Ventana near baja Joes

We really like Tim's place. Palapas Ventana. Nice private cabanas and great breakfast included. Nice launch, on beach storage for gear, good fishing charters, close to both ends of town.

I always stay at Kurt n Marinas and I love it there. Very friendly vibe in the outdoor roofed kitchen / communal area. It's right on the beach and about equal walking distance to Baja Joe's and the campground. The rooms are simple, but comfortable and affordable.

The "famous" pizza from Kurt n marinas tasted like cardboard with bbq sauce. After the first bite, we took the rest to go and found the nearest trash can...

Haha, yes: don't go there for the pizza. Then again, the Mexican staff shared some amazing Pozole and Aguachile last time I was there.

I am leaning toward casa verde (then changing to baja joes, where my friends are staying, for the last 3 days). Casa Verde is a bit more expensive, but I heard their place is better that Kurts... any comments...

Friends have stayed there and like it. More upscale for sure.

We enjoyed Palapas Ventana but moved over to Captain Kirk's the last two days due to a wedding at Tim's. Both places were fine, no complaints, Kirk's maybe a little more upscale. I don't remember how prices compared as my girl did all the shopping around before we went.

I have a friend with a rental house there too; I'll ask if she wants her info posted.
