Los Barilles- thoughts?
Have not stayed at the yurts but have spent time in both LB and LV. Most recently just a couple of weeks ago.
La Ventana:
Smaller town
Less to do outside of waterspouts
Fewer dining options (but still enough good ones!)
Beaches tend to be a little rockier but not all areas
Crowd tends to be much more active
Most resorts cater to wind folks and are right on the beach
Most resorts are much smaller and more personal
Prices tend to be a little cheaper
Wind is a little stronger
More camping options
Los Barriles
Mostly an older crowd (not just in age but also in activity level)
Larger hotels are more impersonal
A little more expensive
Not quite as set up for windsports
Larger town
Noisier at night
More to do besides wind
More places to eat. Some excellent ones
Larger resorts have more amenities
Way more fishing options
Beaches are not as rocky but the sand is more like gravel
A little easier to walk the town as its more centralized
Personally we prefer La Ventana but that's just us. The crowd seems to fit our lifestyle and interests more.
Hope that helps.
