Wow, at one point this afternoon, I counted 35+ (!!!) kites in the air at OB...

Actually they weren't all bunched up at Kelly's - the water texture made it *look* windier than it really was, so people were fooled into using smaller kites than necessary. The result was many people weren't staying up wind, which spread out the crowd.

OB can be really deceiving - The same thing was happening on Saturday when it was blowing 30-40 and everybody was under-rigging and ending up downwind that day too

With all due respect, I think the OB-KC webcam is much more of the cause of any new faces in your front yard than someone posting here on BAK. But it's a point well taken - I guess the original poster was looking for some 'company'?
