Help Give America a Voice and Vote!

Postby marinaTKB » Mon Sep 17, 2012 1:13 pm

Team Fluid has started the American Kiteboarding Association (AKA), a non-profit whose initial goal is to meet the requirements needed to get America a vote and a voice within the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA). Now all they need is members!

The goal of the new non-profit is to get a group together this week and appoint an interim committee so they can vote at the IKA meeting in November. All the paperwork is complete so they just need to submit their officers. The group will initially be focused on racing issues that impact its members not only in the USA, but also at international competitions. They also feel that the meeting is a good opportunity to figure out where and why all the recent course and rule changes are coming from and to get their groups’ opinions heard before “it gets out of hand.” Team Fluid said, “Let’s get together and keep the sport San Francisco and America made great!”

If you would like to join and have a voice with the American Kiteboarding Association (AKA) please submit a $20 USD membership fee to Paypal:

In the Notes section please include:

About Team Fluid: Team Fluid is a group of kiteboard-course-racing athletes that are brand neutral in decision making and have one common goal for moving the sport forward in a positive direction. All members train together as a single unit. Our competition focus is on at least one team member winning a regatta through unified de-briefing and sharing knowledge learned. Team Fluid also shares a common goal of building fleets and introducing new sailors to our sport for a solid foundation.
