Tonight is the thirteenth night of the 2012 Cabrinha Race Series; and there is still a lot to be determined.
Although first place is locked up, there is only nine points separating 2nd and third, another 6 points between third and fourth, then two points between fourth and fifth, one point between fifth and sixth and then 4 points between sixth and seventh. So that means that everyone from second to seventh must bring their A game and stay away from problems as all spots are up for grabs.
There will also be good racing for spots 9-11 as there are only 7 points separating ninth and tenth and 3 points between tenth and eleventh. So basically we could see lotsa changes in positions for the coveted top 10.
Winds should be about 20 for the first race and then potentially dropping off a bit for races two and three, so kite selection will be critical. Should be an exciting end to a great 2012 Cabrinha Race Series.
Oh yeah, and at least three of of top racers in the world should be using tonight to hone their skills for the upcoming Worlds in October.
Johnny started late in the last heat due to some kind of gear failure, I think. He managed to finish thanks to ride on the back of Chip that returned him to his kite. Quite a few of the top guys didn't make all the races, do race committee, or didn't sign up for the entire season. see bottom of sheet.
Great Series once again. Thanks Cabrinha, Steve Gunn, the St. Francis Crew, and racers!
hard to read that it shows on the same day that both chip and jonny finshed 1st? like the 2 of aug 16 ,30 but i get that not raceing all the way will bring down your year end totals

I heard a rumor that while waiting for race number 3, he decided to perform a handle pass while riding his race board and lost his kite. What talent that dude has.
Charlie: let me see if I can help u understand the results. The scores for the guys at the bottom are their real finishes for the races they raced. Because they did not do race committe for an evening, they are not scored for the season results, that's why they do not appear in the top section. Therefore their score for the evening does not count and the scores for all that raced are recalculated. Additionally, there are other racers, likeAdam Koch, that raced as " drop ins," meaning they did not sign up for the season. Drop in results when calculating results for the evening count for the evening, but are not counted when calculating the season results. Example: let's assume on any given night Heineken is first, lake is second , adam is third and chip is 4th. Chip will be scored 4th for the evening, but when calculating the season results for the same evening, chip would be first... Got it? Sure you do
