Classic. ;-)

I need somewhere to vent. This thread seems good enough. Please excuse my drivel.

So today I'm cruising out to the break in Cabarete.

Wind is a bit iffy and holey. I check my six and execute a down loop transition toeside gibe into an oncoming wave. Out of nowhere this wind surfer is tailing me 30 ft behind and downwind of me. Not a problem normally except I hit a major lull the kite luffs and hangs about 30 ft off the water. I'm sheeting out like mad to get it to fly up and this d-bag is riding right at my lines (30 ft away) screaming his head off no no no no no no.

Ok a) I'm flying the kite up with any luck nothing is going to happen. Assuming this is a d-bag though I will give him the benefit of the doubt and ass-ume that he has no clue how kites work.

So b) he can still turn around. And c) he could always dump it in the water. But no he chooses the d)-bag option - just keep barreling at my lines and screaming his head off "no no no no no no no no no"

Arggghhhh.

So today I say thank god windsurfing has been cancelled <grin>

(seriously - I have nothing against windsurfers - I love anyone who wants to get a wind stoke on and had a great time racing with one two days ago I'm just not a big fan of d-bags on the water)

My buddy has one that says "Cancel this, Kiteboy!" (he both kites and windsurfs - bi-sportual).

Well if that's what "they" think, then we need a new one that says...

"IF IT WERE EASY you'd be kiteboarding"

I took me 5 days in kiteboarding to get to the same level which it took me 2 years in windsurfing.

Took me 15 years to learn to windsurf... only did it to please the old man. I remember ALOT of cussing! Formula boards changed the game for me.

Tell you this though, kiteriding is definitely the most dangerous sport I've ever tried... it terms of drowning.
