Re: Hood River Trip
whatever you do. don't camp next to the train tracks. (viento state park). that stupid train whistle every hour the entire night was torture.
make sure to hit up roosevelt. definitely worth the drive.

Re: Hood River Trip
HAHA... yea the train camping SUCKS
Once again, check out Tucker. If you are taking the lady she will like it. There are blueberry picking fields, lavandear farms, and u-pick cherry fields in the praries between hood and the campground. Tucker is on the hood river (glacier fed... freezing and milky) but its really nice to have as your backdrop and a flowing river beats the hell out of trains!

Re: Hood River Trip
Rooster looks different than google. There was a ton of flat washed sandy beach....though likely submerged depending on power requirements and dam water storage?

Yep. Sandbars in the river change a lot! Also the water level varies thought the day. Sometimes as much as 5-6 feet. Also gets cooold when they let a bunch of water out of the dams!!kitenaked wrote:Rooster looks different than google. Have fun up there. It's not bay area kiting but still really fun!

Re: Hood River Trip
On one of the trips during the Hood River demos, one of our Wainman Hawaii brethen blew out both knees after landing a kite loop in the shallows...
Maui Mike carried him over his shoulders back to the parking lot.
