King of the Bay Happenings?

Post by OliverG » Sun Aug 15, 2004 8:33 am

It's unfortunate the the contest has been the victim of lack of winds. Many travelled from far to compete, sponsors put up money and so far it's been shut down. I can't help but wonder if outcomes like this would affect future KOB's. Hopefully, they'll be some wind today as the forecast looks better.

Anyone have anything to report who was at 3rd the last day or two. What was happening? Anything going on? Was everyone able to make the best of it and have a good time hanging out anyway?

I saw some of the contestants at the Delta for the evening session last night and the report was "not enough wind to compete". I always thought the second island upwind from SI would be the definitive spot for a contest-- would have been this weekend anyway. Better luck today to the visiting talent! Monday at SI anyone? You know you want it.

"Monday at SI anyone? You know you want it."

Yes, you're right. I tried to deny it, but I can't. If it's blowing, I'll be sending, at least chances are good anyway. I just have to be able to justify it to myself.

Is that what I need to say to get you to go to SI Ollie? "you know you want it!"

Yeah, that and there's gotta be wind too. Doesn't look like there is this morning, so I should go get some work done and just hit the Bay this afternoon.

any of you guys make it out there? it was great. perfect 12 day. just when it couldn't get any better, a bunch of the guys from kob showed up and tore it up until the wind died around sunset. it was great.
