Places to stay in Whistler?

Post by shred_da_gorge » Mon Feb 13, 2012 5:44 pm

Heading to Vancouver, BC for work next week and thinking to extend the trip into the weekend and ski Whistler on Saturday. Any affordable recommendations? Do I need to rent AWD or will economy car be fine? Are current conditions worth it? Unfortunately I need to call our corporate travel agent ASAP to arrange flights...

I don't even suggest a car rental. If you must rent, economy will make it. Roads are really good. There are tons of shuttles from both vancouver and the airport that'll take you to whistler village with lots of drop off points - highly recommend you stay there for the best experience, there's plenty of affordable options. Walking from just about any hotel to the gondolas is not bad even on ski boots. Creekside is a bit out there, all the fun is in whistler village. imo.

My family owns or has a timeshare idk in a 7th floor penthouse at the Pan Pacific facing the mt. From elevators to blackomb gondola is like 100ft, add another 120yards to whistler gondola . I'd check there for some rooms. They have a huge [heated] open pool area with two jaccuzzis facing the mountain on a second floor so nobody can see you. Favorite place to ski/snowboard. Enjoy your trip. I've been going every year for the last decade summers are crazy awesome too - that mtb park
