Cabo $167 Virgin air Jan 2012, LaVentana Now where to stay?

So I am thinking of pulling the trigger,

The wind is good there this time of year? Right ?

$167 each way with Virgin Air I reckon that's a pretty good deal

Dates: somewhere between Jan 7th and Jan 22nd for 7-10 days.

Car rentals dirt cheap as well :)

I'm just not sure where to stay.

Anyone have a place they rent out ? Rv?? anything! or if you have any tips or trade secrets about La Ventana that you would like to share they would be much appreciated.

I am searching the forums as we speak just thought id throw this thread up

Not really lookin for a resort type just as near the beach as possible simply, basic, cheap and cheerful.

Cheers

Careful on the car rental. Prices are cheap but the insurance they will sell you is not!
Wind will be great in Jan. Consider a day or two in los Barilles too.
Camping is the cheapest option. Around $14 a day I think. Lots of other options too.
We'll be there mid jan. through end of Feb. C u there!

Where is the best spot to land launch or is anywhere along the beach acceptable

I have been to Baja Joes once, we took motorcycle trip down to baja "no kiting" :( and we were only there for a couple of hours passing through, in the off season.

Kinda looked like you could launch anywhere along that side of the bay but I'm not sure and don't want to be pissin people off or putting myself in danger

The car rental insurance thing: I'm hoping to get the insurance through my Credit card anyone done this in Mexico b4?
would love to check out los Brailles as well prob need the car for this

for car insurance you need to call your credit card company and ask them about Mexico. For example, Amex only covers domestic car rental. You need to call Amex car premium insurance services to purchase additional insurance in Mexico.

If you rent, I would just get the Mexican insurance there. Better safe than sorry. They don't mess around down there.
