Post by frankylabrute » Thu Dec 16, 2010 11:00 am

hi Gang
I'm planning to go to tahoe firday 12/17 to sunday 12/20
forecast is for snowstorm and high wind on sunday
I'm planning to ski/ride one or two days( have the tripple whammy pass to northstar + free ticket at sugarbowl) and snowkite some when the conditions call for it either at Mt rose meadows, martis , prosser, etc...
anybody's in ?

I was up early this week it was gusty and the coverage at most peak (above 7500) areas is good!!
Next monday should be the best day in the near future. Look for our new website and Tahoe snowkite Lesson/guide service launching at months end
Here is a shot of me at Rose last monday :)

cool, unfortunately I' ll be travelling back sunday and next week I'll be in southshore with my kids . what' s the best bet for storm riding ( south, SE I believe ) do you think ? or is it just not worth the trouble , and better wait for the clearing wind ?
you can text me at 415-706-1307

Will do,
There are many good spots on the south shore, best times for lower elevations are before and after storms if there is coverage as for the higher elevations the wind is more consistant, almost daily, but kiting up top in and around storms can be an issue due to very high gusts and low visibility.
The new KGB Kiteboarding website launching in early Jan '11 (see link below) will have all this info posted in the snowkite section, as well as a dialy weather widgets for the tahoe snowkite spots,we will also be offering backcountry snowkite guide services starting Jan '11.
Look for it and stay in touch if you wanna ride.
