\Once you launch move away from the shore quickly and clear the launch landing zone. Be sure to stay at least two kite lengths away from the beach.
There are lots of beachgoers on the weekend who would not appreciate a kite joining there picnic.
Its easy, with the side on breeze of summer. to edge your way closer to shore and not realize it.
Work on trying to meter the amount of power you generate on a power stroke. This is the key to gauging the power you need for a water start.
Also while you are out there work on the upwind body dragging by keeping your body rigid and trying to go at a shallow upwind angle fast rather than a steep upwind angle slow.
Have fun and please be safe!
