Sunday at Alameda

Post by RobsterCraw » Sat May 21, 2005 10:53 pm

How does it look for alameda on a 12m on sunday? I need more kites but I'm trying to get a good day at alameda and I'm getting anxious.

low to mid teens. might be able to plane, but hard to go upwind on a 12... 16 is better, 14 is ok (depending on your weight).

If you are not too heavy it will likely be fine.... I am planning on a 14m day and I weigh 220

I'm thinking my 16.5 @ 215lbs...

My guess is the wind slant of NNW will keep it from ramping to big against the modest ebb at Alameda even with the temperature gradient of 10 degrees...

Sylvia however has fantasies of riding a 7.... and she is a very good prognosticator!

Tried Sherman with the family over the weekend. *^}

I had a good time, even though I was mostly a caddy since I still have stitches in my foot. Went out once with duck tape over the 4" slice, but that felt weird if I loaded up the board, so I quit - but since I was out of the water, the family had a gas! Brian was out on the 4 & 5, and Alex was getting pretty smooth on his back roll kite loops. MG out for hours, as always. Pretty much always have fun with the family at Sherman...
