SoCal intermediate kiter in the Bay Area next week

Post by LBC to be » Tue May 12, 2009 5:52 pm

I kite at Malibu and Long Beach mostly, so I am used to lighter winds, but I have kited
in Baja and Maui among other places. I have a 13 m2 LEI that I use mostly in So Cal,
but also a 8m2 flysurfer pulse II for stronger wind that I use when it is (rarely) windier.
I weigh 190 pounds and am pretty solidly intermediate.

I will be in SF for a conference next week, and was hoping to check out 3rd avenue.
Any tips for what size kite I will likely need given the winds there on average?

Thanks in advance,

It normally blows in the mid twenties so you would probably want to have something like a 9m

Thanks for the response. Forecast looks pretty dismal though for this week (Monday-Wednesday).
Just my luck! I've been skunked at the Gorge, La Ventana, Brazil, and now maybe in the Bay.
