Get the advil ready
The forecast is sweet for wind from now until OCTOBER.......just kidding, but today, sat and sun will be great days. Here is the discussion from NWS (with my comments added)
THE COAST WONT WARM THAT MUCH AS A WEAK TO MODERATE ONSHORE FLOW (read: 10 or 8m weather on the coast, solid wind @ third)CONTINUES BUT MANY INLAND AREAS SHOULD WARM UP CLOSE TO THE POTENTIAL. (who cares)
8 AM SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENTS SHOWED A FAIRLY STRONG NLY FLOW WITH 3.3 MB ACV-SFO AND ANOTHER 4.9 SFO-SMX (this is the wind machine for the coast). WMC-SFO WAS 4.2 MB OFFSHORE
BUT SFO-SAC WAS 1.1 ONSHORE (bodes well for us in the bay). THAT ONSHORE GRADIENT IS FORECAST TO INCREASE TO ABOUT 2 MB THIS AFTN WHICH WILL GENERATE A MODERATE SEABREEZE (can I get an Amen brothers and sisters ;-) (the wind will be a bit more mellow then yesterday on the coast - not so gusty).
EXCEPT FOR A FOG PATCH OR 2 NEAR MONTEREY THIS MRNG THERE WAS NO LOW STUFF AROUND...BUT THE MARINE LAYER IS BECOMING BETTER DEFINED AROUND 1000 FEET DEEP AND THE ETA INDICATES SOME PATCHY CLOUDS SAT MRNG...MOSTLY FROM SFO S. ONSHORE FLOW IS FORECAST TO INCREASE.... SOME WELL INLAND SITES COULD AVOID THE COOLING BUT A STRONGER SEABREEZE WILL SEND TEMPS DOWN ELSEWHERE. (Delta will be really nice on Sat/Sun. Alameda, Crissy, and Berk will all be fun as well.....ahh, it's like the old days when it blew 5.0 wsurfing everywhere, you just picked you favorite site, hook up w/your bros and rip. Make sure you have cold beers for the post sesh hang)
Good winds + waves, Zeev.

I spent all morning trying to figure out how not to get on that plain to go to the only place in the country for the weekend that there will be no kiting...NY City??!?!?!?BayAreaKite wrote:Brother Z,
Thanks for the info. You're on it. Let's hope for a sweet Delta session Sunday, I am down for the warmth and wind out there this weekend!
Cheers,
Ollie
Oh well...things are just starting to get revd up. I'll be back for that early morning Monday session...after all the heating, should be a good one too.
Have fun in the waves...Z...smack a lip for me tomorrow...got a call as I was getting off the plane in NY this evening saying it was 8m kiting at Waddel.

wave lust
Sherman = brown water, sweet butter, a bit pulsy this time of year (vs. steady as a fan later), great hang.
Coast = green water, waves, life all over, amazing scenery, waves, fun stuff to jump, steady wind and did I mention WAVES!!!!!!!
Stinson was sweeeet yesterday, and I think it's going to fire today as well.

too much of a good thing
Got to take a few days off to let the body heal up.....3 days of coast sailing take it's toll.
Gotta make some $$ and work.
Enjoy everyone, Zeev.
