Does anyone in the bay area own or have experience using an inflatable SUP board? If so, would how would you compare them to non-inflatable boards? Would you buy one again?
Examples being:
http://www.uliboards.com/
http://www.portablekayaks.com/sup
http://www.liquidsurfandsail.com/index. ... ctID=10536
I ask because I do not want to store or haul around a 11' long board plus it's not practical for traveling with either of my vehicles. I dont understand why more companies don't make SUP boards that break down into two or three pieces.
Also, could someone explain why the are so damn expensive?! The core material is cheap and fiberglass is also cheap; nothing like the balsa/PVC foam/carbon fiber we find in kiteboards.

Re: Inflatable SUP board
Maybe because the inflatable boards are still relatively new and still has a small market?
A few years ago, I was seriously looking at Pope Bisect boards, the price kept me from buying one, price has not gone down to date because collapsible boards have not caught on the market.

Go ahead get one. Then you'll just need an inflatable woman to round out your quiver :)

Re: Inflatable SUP board
Looks like Rebecca and Jane at Board Sports School recently stocked up with the ULI board. Maybe they might have demo boards soon.
