Board for Alameda?

Post by Guest » Sun Apr 03, 2005 1:31 am

I will be stepping into the liquid in Alameda soon. The last piece of gear I need to get is a board. I got a couple of offers on litewave 136 and 148. Which size is more proper for learning in Alameda in the spring? I weight #150. I want to be able to use the board in other spots in the bay area once I get it.

Any oppinion appriciated.

At 150 the litewave 136 should be fine. I think the 148 maybe easier to learn on. Where else do you plan on kiting??? If it's anywhere where there is high wind then you'll need the 136. The 148 is for fat guys like me.

I would say the 136 would be fine also. It's possible the 148 may be slightly easier to learn on, but you may quickly outgrow it. Best to get the smaller board that you'll actually be using regularly later.

Thanks guys. So you think I can learn on the 136?

I will be using it in the regular spots in the bay area I guess, first alameda and then the rest (Crissy, delta... )

in case you care, I have a very nice 136 x 38 for sale...It is an Airush wakeskate with pads on it. Jimmy lewis signature design, I think the only JL Airush board in '03.

I taught my kids on it, then I rode it for a year, and they have small LMG boards that are very sweet, so the airush is a spare. I think it is a great board to learn on since it has very soft, forgiving rails.
