Lost Garmin wrist GPS at 3rd 9/18

Post by baypirate » Thu Sep 18, 2008 10:37 pm

I lost my wrist GPS, a Garmin Fortrex, on the bike path between upper launch and parking lot.

As a public service, if you own this device, make sure you loop a back-up string - that velcro strap they use comes off - as mine did.

How did you find your way back home?

sorry, couldn't help it...

It says 10M, but it's really a 9.

bulldog - what question is that? I picked up the scent trail, of course! Why do you think I need a GPS on the WATER??

More seriously, "Touche" the way our French kiting friends at 3rd would say. Got the GPS as I was considering taking on the 50kt barrier down the road but it looks like I'll be too slow (no pun) getting there... (I AM kidding)

Bikers love these, so the bikepath was ideal place to lose it anyway

You should get something like the dog tracker, you can map the places where you want to go.

If you lose it, you can just track it, better, it can probably be attached to the board, so if the board is lost with the tracker, it can be found, then you can call your board fiddo.

actually, that may not be such a bad idea with these iffy winds (no relaunch = lost board in my (expensive) experience). before dropping the dough, I'll just try train my board. Thinking about withholding him food first, as withholding water would end up training ME first.
