New home weather station

Post by jbirdmarin » Wed Sep 03, 2008 10:05 pm

Having ACL surgury in Oct so will have plenty of time on my hands until the Spring season starts. My house could be a decent wind indicator for other kiters, so decided to buy a home weather station I can post rooftop and have live feeds to my computer and (I think?) the internet. There are tons of options out there, just wondering if any of you have had any experience in brands, software, etc... For example, one products lists, "Streams live weather data real time (approximately 3 second updates) to the WeatherUnderground.com Website. Also supports the WeatherBug and Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP) Websites."

I remember a few months back someone mentioning setting up a station for "a few hundred bucks" at OB. I don't want to spend a fortune, but want it to work. Any input is greatly appreciated.

jason.

Cam would be nice - but that's a bit more challenging than I'm ready for now.
