March 23 - Ocean Beach going off!

Post by KillaHz » Wed Mar 23, 2005 2:02 pm

Darren just called me from OB.

It's blowing 30 NW and the waves are waist to chest high, sunny, blue skies...Player friendly conditions and nobody out. Darrens pumping up his 10m and wants some company. He doesn't like kiting by himself.

I'm in Tahoe about to go snowkiting in deep pow but figured I'd spread the word.

But I didn't look at the timestamp, and apparently it was a 20day old session. woops.

I noticed that myself, but spent the greater part of the day working. I bailed from work at just after two and hit the water in the East Bay at Alameda as it was blowing pretty good there all day.

Darren's a gas and has great energy and stoke, and is fun to kite with, pass on my cell # to him if you like. Kiting alone gets old quick!

Trip was insane...probably the single biggest event for kiteboarding to date.

Slightly Stupid playing 2 live shows on top of the half pipe that Tony Alva and Andy Kessler were skating in all night.

The top 5 wakeboarders in the world ripping it up in the river and learning to kite.

10 of the top kiters in the world...an insane 25 knot wind kiteloop contest.

firing surf

insane partys for 10 days straight.

I had to keep pinching myself. Big props to Bill Lee for his vision of the Extreme Hotel...that place is sweet! www.extremehotels.com

I shot video the whole time and lots of photographers were firing a way. You will see this week long party on Fox 54321, The Kiteboarder Magazine, Maxim Magazine, Wakeboarding mag, and many more...not to mention WindReels Volume 2.

Tahoe - the pow is good. This morning I heard reports of epic powder runs....I have to work though and I am waiting for an east wind day to hit our terrain park...got to chose the good days these days as my free time has dwindled.

I'll be in the bay this weekend for easter...maybe we'll catch some coastal.
