I've only flown the 9 in 4 line setup. I did have it drop out of the sky at 12:00 on an extremely gusty day (gusting over 30), but for the most part it seems reasonably stable, keeping some tension on the rear lines may keep it from overflying and dropping. Also, I inflate it pretty firm, and that may help. When I've flown it soft it feels less stable. As far as the relaunch goes, I'll sometimes pull in 4-5' of one of the outside lines to get it to stand up, but it seems to relaunch ok. I agree that it does feel like a heavy kite, and in super light winds may be harder to keep in the air than some other kites, but I still really like it.
