Admin/mods/additional awesome people.

I think this place really has potential to grow. Here are a couple suggestions that i learned from years of experience and from building a community that now has 30k members.

1) Bring is as much search engine traffic as you can. It appears that you are off to a GREAT start with the mod_rewrite hack on phpbb.. this will get search engines across the majority of the board.
2) Get listed in some directories! I submitted bakb to dmoz.org already but there are a ton of directories out there that will list a great site like this. Here is a small list of directories you may want to start with: http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Outdoors/Directories/

If you can get listed in those directories it will again help the SE traffic.
3) Never spam the members.
4) Keep the friendly vibe you already have because it made me and im sure lots of others feel very welcome!

Zigx,

Thanks for all the tips! I'll check out the link there for the various directories. As far as the friendly vibe, that's what it's all about here. Everyone is welcome, and people have been great so far, so I think we can continue and keep it as a great resource for everyone.

I hope we've never spammed the members. We've sent out emails announcing new changes, a contest and announcing the new apparel (plug alert: which you can buy here: https://www.bayareakiteboarding.com/apparel.htm) , but not much more.

Your suggestions are always welcome!
Ollie
