oops, posted before I saw there was another page, the above was a comment on Tony Soprano's wisdom. The pissin' & moanin' comes from a desire for all to share, and to respectfully request that those who are taking more than one parking space in the "line up" should do the righteous thing and park in the "overflow" (back) parking lot. The "amenities" at Sherman were never meant to accommodate 40 ft trailers that want to camp out all summer.

After seeing for myself what all the fuss is about, I can understand why SI regulars are being vocal about the massive trailer. Not being one who launches from the park very often, my opinion does not have much weight, but to me the trailer in question seems excessive and rediculous. The curb at the edge of the dirt RV parking area is there for a reason, to prevent vehicles from passing that line. They were not put there for those with large trailers to evade.

If you must have all the ammenities, it seems logical to park your huge rig at Rio Viento. Again, just my opinion so take it for what its worth (two cents, if I'm lucky).

It serves to provide me another reason to avoid launching in the county park. It also dissuades me from approaching PCT with the intent to do business. The more space that is taken up, the fewer spaces for people to come and demo the gear you want to sell.

On a more positive note, the wind was buttery smooth this afternoon as was the water behind the second island. It was great being the first one on the water after 3:30.

Last year, I recall the Best bus being tucked away in the back lot creating no problems. I guess some are critical of PCT's location, but keep in mind they won't be there too long. Give them a chance to break the tension and make it up to everyone with a killer bbq. Super-cold beer, grilled meats and grilled skewered vegetables please! See you there this weekend.

Yeah, well, the penis envy comment did it for me. :finga:

But I can't decide whether it's better to drink their beer/eat their food and not buy anything from them ever, or just boycott the whole event...

Most business people know that maintaining good relationships with your customers is pretty important, somehow these guys don't get it.

Thanks to Tim & Janet at PCT, and big thanks to Maui Mike & Chris for hooking up the afternoon bbq and beer today - well done. I'm sure the winners of the raffle are stoked to have received a new Best snowboard, kiteboard and kite. Generous of Best indeed. Many appreciated the great food and cold beer, so once again - thanks!
