Bay Area Kiteboarding Berkeley Beach Clean Up

Come join us for a Pt. Emery Beach Clean-up event for Saturday, March 19 from 9am to 12pm!

Over the winter, quite a bit of debris has landed on the beach and launch area. As many of you know, high tide often leaves us with very little room on the beach, so it's important to keep our launch as safe as possible and maintain a safe and clean debris-free beach.

The City of Emeryville in coordination with Waste Management will be providing a dumspter for the event as well as waivers that everyone must sign in order to participate.

What Should You Bring?

- Gloves at the very minimum. We can provide a limited amount, but more is better, so if you have some, great!

- Other helpful items - shovels, rakes (steel and leaf), garbage cans or garbage bags.

We will provide several garbage cans, shovels, rakes, a weed trimmer and a chainsaw. If anyone else has a chainsaw they can bring and safely operate, let us know!

Let's kick off the season with a clean, safe launch! If you would like to organize a similiar event at your favorite local launch, let us know and we can help you to organize an event.

Thanks and hope to see you there.

I don't know Don, looking at your avatar photo, you might be a bit young to be using a chainsaw, I'll have to run it by the City of Emeryville..

Josh,

Come down I-80 from Marin and take the Ashby exit, veer right to the frontage road and take a left onto the frontage road. It's just around the bend.

I will be there. I like to kite there a lot but being bigger I usually need a bigger kite and there was too many weeds and shrubs to setup there last year. I will bring a portable hedge trimmer to cut the place down a bit. =D>
