Home Page Welcome Pics

Post by OliverG » Mon Feb 21, 2005 1:12 pm

Hey all,

I'd like to keep the pics on the home page rotating and fresh, so if you have any you'd like to see posted, send 'em in.

Here are a few that show various locations and such:

They are all pretty sweet. But you know my vote would be for the Alameda one!!

Are you going to manually rotate them every once in awhile, or have them randomly change? I can probably help with the latter if the site doesn't have the capability of doing it now.

Good question! The banners rotate, but that's a separate deal which I can't implement into the home page image display. I have PhpAdsNew (http://phpadsnew.com/two/) installed (but not yet configured) to serve up and rotate ads for the classifieds and multimedia pages as those are separate modules from the main forum. Once I get that set up and configured I should be able to use that to rotate the home page images, which would be cool to do. Then I could load up a couple dozen and it would always be fresh.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes with the adserver config.

Oh my, unbelieveably enough, with not too much thrashing around I was able to generate the code with the adserver software to rotate the images on the home page.

Olli,

I really like them all beside the Alameda one. Lets look for a nicer view for this nice spot.

I like the Alameda one! It captures exactly what I see when I drive to the beach. I am sure there are better ones too though!

Ollie,

I'm wondering if that is me on the beach at Sherman Island? I just want to know if I am famous. :)
