Sharing the secrets!!!

Post by pipedragon » Wed Feb 02, 2005 1:21 pm

Thought I would share this wind sensor with the gang. It is a really accurate realtime sensor of the wind in Alameda. It can be a little off in south winds but other then that it is good all summer long. BAsically if you see 12 or more you are good to go. That combined with the Camera and your set. Too bad there is none today!!!

Excellent!
I had the link at one time through a TV station than it stopped working.
Great to have it back.
I've seen the sensor on the roof of the HS near the boat ramp. The sensor is in a very good location with relatively undisturbed wind in any direction that would be kitable in Alameda

Looks like it's down at the moment. Is that a different one than this one:

If so, I'll add it to the weather resources section. Thanks!

Ya it is a different location. The one you have is not really that accurate from what I have seen. The AWS one is realtime. I have been at the beach and went to the site from my Web enabled phone and the AWS one I posted was right on. Man, am I a geek or what???
