In one the lowest tides I've seen at Ashby beach today winds were blowing between 10-15 onshore, but still made for an excellent session on a 17. I was all alone and seconds away from self launching when Kaz showed up, launched me and hung out for a bit. If Alameda is dead and Pt. Iz is light, this makes for an ideal spot during a low tide, but you *must* be able to stay upwind.
Maybe I'll see someone else there tomorrow afternoon if the winds blowing.
good job ollie
did you go from the beach or walk up wind to the rock point
(you get a little more room to get out)
and i see the wind meter is fixed

Launched from the beach as it was a very low tide, likely due to the full moon. Onshore wind makes for kind of a workout to stay out, but was well worth it. Wind should pick up there today so I'll probably check it out again in the afternoon.
Your giving away my spot. I work right in front of that launch. I would actually enjoy the company as I am usualy self launching here. Hope to see a few more people out there this season.
After reading on the warm windless beach for a while I got a 20 min ride on my 16M. It was about 20 mph for a short while!
It was frustrating watching the windsurfers ripping over at the Berkeley Marina most of the afternoon. I wish there was a place to launch there.
