Did it really just go from 0 to 20 at Alameda in 10 minutes?

It's gusting to 37 at Dillon; suddenly Crowne is seeming warm and fuzzy.

0 to 20 on a cold front sounds about right.
The wind is 12ish around here, I just finished riding straped-in in the mini-surf with my 14, my legs finally went to MUSH!

Yeah, Pablito it was a little crazy at Dillon today. I've never been there before and took the "early commitment" approach and arrived at 12:30. Thought twice about launching though. It was friggin' COLD and VERY windy. Horizontal sand gusts with a wind chill of "God-knows-what?" The landlord was the least of my worries. It was more of a "known threat" evaluation I was making.

Eventually I paid the $5 parking fee, rigged a 10, rode a 128 for about 15 minutes, totally scared shizless, rode one nice frothy wave and then landed my kite and packed it in. Four hours of driving and 15 minutes of sheer terror.

Want some guys will do...

(Thanks to the equally insane ground crew.)

Yeah, today was pushing 7 meter kite wind. Were spots other than Alameda as smooth? I was amazed at how level the wind was there. Shifty at times but not gusty at all. I was out til 6:00 on my 8 meter and loved every moment of it. I think some dish washing gloves are in order though.

I just checked the graphs and it actually was only a little bit windier at Dillon than it was at Alameda, and I think it was the same frickin' temperature.

I would love for someone to tell us what the wind chill out on the water today was when it was gusting to 35.
