Alameda too difficult to forecast?????

Post by andyandmarlys » Tue Jun 13, 2006 9:48 pm

Just noticed that Alameda is no longer on the paid forecast on ikitesurf.com....

Wonder if this is a fluke.... or if Alameda is just too damn hard to predict.... I know there have been days forecast at 10mph that have ended up 30+... and days that were forecast upper teens and ended up being glassy all day long....

Hope they decide to try again....

Ya it's missing again. Not that it matters much. The only real forcast for Alameda is light to no wind except once in a while. I just wait for a page and I drive by it on my way home from work anyway so if it's blowin Im goin!

Do they still close for sewage spill? Is it all good now? I haven't been out for a while and I can't catch up with kiters now...

Watch out! according to Ikitesurf there is a 80% chance of cloud cover and then on friday it is supposed to be 114 deg!

Do they ever look at their own forecasts?

Spring is over, hope you all enjoyed the lovely 15 days we got in! Turn on your A/C, drive your SUV to the furthest Walmart, go eat some fast food, honk your horn at the DWA, throw some trash on the freeway, hell have some more kids-cause that's what Bush and Jesus want you to do, go burn a book, and dont forget to pay your taxes so our wonderful government can keep our greenhoused beach up and running.

Alameda lit up yesterday? The ikite sensor does not show anything significant.
Another light wind session? (= glide + 16m + downwinder)

Wind pushed hard after 8:00pm till almost 10pm, Approx
17 average for an hour at its peak, was lit up on a 14Vegas
and surfboard!. VERY steady wind, a scarce commodity these
days.
