From NWS Oakland:

The main question is when will the southerly surge of cooler weather
and stratus start. The GFS shows no indicate of the southerly surge
through the weekend whereas the eta12 shows it beginning on Friday.
Due to the very real difficulty of forecasting the start of the
surge this far out...have opted for Saturday as the time when the
surge will affect the district. Saturday would be the fourth day of
the hot weather...it is very rare to go beyond that time frame before
the thermal trough moves off the coast. With the Assumption that the
surge will happen on Saturday...the coast...and especially south
facing beaches will be anywhere from 15-25 degrees cooler. Santa
Rosa will be significantly cooler since a south wind brings the
cooler air well into the North Bay. On the other hand...Monterey
could be even warmer since a south wind is downsloping off the
Santa Lucia mountains.

Get out the wakeboards...

can you name this band

Post by zgur » Thu Jun 22, 2006 12:40 pm

A song comes to mind....."mama keeps saying that the wind may blow, but sitting here I say I just don't know"

Can you name the band/tune? cold beer waiting for the correct guess....

Quite the interesting weather year we are having.....rain all march/April....killer coast wind most May/June and now, we are in full August like weather pattern.....

Sitting here in Oakland, I don't see ANY FOG at the gate/city....man it's hot....

If I were a betting man, I would place my bets on Friday night getting some wind at the delta as the fog creeps up the coast and enters the bay....but as they say, your milage may vary ;-)

Get some, Z.

Didn't mean to quote the whole thing, but that would be the esteemed Grateful Dead. I'm pretty sure the tune is called Cosmic Charlie. A cold one sounds really great right now, but it'll be even better after a sweet SI session this weekend. I'll be looking for you!! All the best, Leann

btw: you really do qualify for Superman status amigo!!

Get some, Z.

Oh yeah...Cosmic Charlie.

There's wind at Crissy right now and it's a beautiful day. Races should be fun in the flood as usual.

Plenty of fog today in Capitola. Beautiful canoe trip on Soquel Creek (killer turtle population) followed by sponging at the Esplanade. (Dad duty of course!) The only kite there was a trainer. I need to get yanked, hopefully tomorrow.

Zeev, don't quiz me on GD lyrics since I will soon have YOUR beer in MY cooler. :drinkers:

Surprised I remember them...
Go bigga'
