A couple of us rode Alameda yesterday until dark! Classic Alameda spring time breeze. On my way home on Shoreline Dr. I saw Andy kiting when it was pitch dark (8:35pm)!

I was very powered on my 14M, so I think the sensor is pretty accurate, at least when the wind gets above 20mph.

I was toasty warm in my full 5mm suit. And booties, too. I could've kited until dark if I had gone out on my 10 instead of 12. Everyone gets to Sherman, it's 80 degrees, and they're thinking SUMMER.

If you want a long session, leave the shorty at home.

The Alameda Sensor has me scratching my head lately... Yesterday it did seem to be an "actual" 20mph..... but two days ago it seemed barely kiteable in 13-15mph...(historically when it had indicated 13-15mph, it felt like it did yesterday when it was showing 20mph) I know there were changes made recently... but the bottom line may be that Alameda is a much windier spot that previously thought... ie... the wind sensor has always read low...keeping most people away, but in reality has been blowing 20mph when the sensor was only indicating 13-15.....

being as though I kite alameda more than anywhere esle, this would seriously effect my judgement of wind speed. But I guess that is possible, that the wind has always been more than it is reading too. I think last year it read low and the new sensor reads high. It is also raised up substantially higher on the pole.
