Last week there was a ban on recreational boating in the delta, because the water level is so high that there is fear wakes could overtop the levees.

Not sure if this extends to kiteboarders and windsurfers...

Just don't send too much spray or you might end up with your finger (and the rest of your body) in the dike

i dont know why my post didnt show up, but here it is again:

i went out there about 2 weeks ago to check things out, and the main launch area has those big ass logs just laying across them. They are chopped up but the pieces havent been moved. And the pieces are HUGE so i couldnt do it myself if i wanted to.

a delta cleanup day was what i had in mind, I think it would take like an hour with 10 people. maybe less.

there are probably like at maximum 20 large pieces. each piece can't be manually lifted by a single person, too big. If we get a wheel barrow or something im still thinking about 10 people for about an hour, maybe slightly longer maybe less.

this is a hugely rough estimate, i should probably call Indian Bob and ask or someone whos been there even more recently with a better idea about what kind of job it is.

We should organize it soon. At Berkeley we were able to move big, big logs with a few guys and the right tools, so it should be a snap...

All you need are willing and able men and women and it's done. We can make a party or potluck out of it or something too so when the works done, we can have some fun whether we end of kiting or not. It'd be nice to get it done before the season really kicks in there so everything is nice and clean! You know we need every bit of room there...

I saw John G. today at Waddell and he told me that brett was going to set something up, but he never got around to it.

I think we should set something up ourselves and get it done asap. I'm ready and willing.
