Paul with a wind out to the south, from what I hear HMB harbor is the place to be in winter. Did you see the swell size for next week. You have some pretty big cahone's.

30 kt winds and 30 ft faces every 13 seconds?
Umm, no thanks, I'll sit this one out.
Let me know how it goes.

Would S winds be side off at Mav's? Waves that big and off shore winds that strong would be some good surfing!! Can you say bus sized barrels!!!

Come on guys, where's your sense of adventure! I was thinking OB, not HMB. It should be kiteable if the wind is straight out of the south, right.

I do the math to 23 ft., not 30. And as Ollie says, at OB, you don't have to kite all the way out to the big breakers -- you can hang out in the white water.

Dewey, you could be the first guy ever to kite Mavericks...

One thing I know -- I'm not going out without company.

There are a few that have kited there, but it's on the QT, really.

Work of all sorts beckons this week, otherwise I'd consider rolling out to OB, but Alameda is best I can hope for.

Paul even if your not kiting out to the break OB is still a bit hairy. That's a big swell with lots of currents. Best to live and kite another day. HMB is the better call.
