Presents Snow Kiteboarding

Wind over Water Kiteboarding has taken it up a notch... We have partnered with Squaw Valley to present toyou, Squaw Valley Kite School, located in the Squaw Valley Golf Course. Come see us for a winter adventure that anyone can do. It just takes a bit of snow, a zephyr of wind, and your snowboarding/skiing gear to get you riding. School opens December 23rd and runs until the snow melts. †

To take your snowkiting skills a step further, we are having some unbelievable snow kiteboarding/kiteski trips planned to Salt Lake City, Utah at Skyline Ridge, an empty planning field that extends into rolling hills of fresh powder. This weekend warrior trip of 3 days includes accommodations at a 5 bedroom cozy cabin, transportation to and from the airport and riding area, support from our snow mobiles, kite gear, drinks, meals and lessons (Airfare is not included).

If the weather doesn't improve soon, noone's gonna be doing much snowkiting in Tahoe in January. I think December's already a lost cause. I'm hoping for a holiday week dump up there like last year's.

With deep sympathy for those who, like me, have liveliehoods at the whim of Mother Nature.

Places in Tahoe?

Post by Guest » Thu Dec 15, 2005 8:49 am

Hey I'm brand new to this site which by the way is very nice!
Heather from Ozone turned me on to it.

I know they don't have the best coverage out there...but we've had reservations in South Lake Tahoe for the week after New Years. Is there a list of local spots there? What about any locals to get in touch with out there to go snow kite with? I'll have all my gear. Thanks in advance!

Things may be looking up. As of this morning, NWS is talking about a dramatic change in the weather sometime during the weekend, with first precip Sat. or Sun. night. The Pineapple Express is headed our way, and they're already talking about the brunt of the storm hitting on Weds/Thurs -- just in time for Xmas week up in Tahoe.

Too bad for me I'm leaving for the East Coast on Thursday for the holidays.

By now Tahoe is packed with fresh pow.
After this storm system is gone Jeff, Jamie and the rest of the crew will be smiling!
We have Ozone and Flexifoil demo gear for any of you interested in exploring. Let us know.

We have been snow kiting in the Tahoe area for a month in the higher evlations of the Sierra Ridges. The New Year's storm has filled all the lower valley spots with powder. So this means it's on for everyone. The Tahoe/Reno area has some killer spots. Come on up and check out the action. Whether if you never flew a kite before or your an expert kiter we have a program that will fit you. Email us at wowkite@sbcglobal.net for lessons and info.
Check out www.wowkite.com for kite trips and info. Winter is here and spring is just around the corner.
Have fun and kite safely,
Jeff
