Today was a good Alameda Day,
but not a good beginner day with the on shore wind and flood...
I was juiced on my Contra. NBG and I made into the butter at the naval base... like cutting first tracks in fresh powder... sweeeetttt

That spot looks sweet. Is Crown Beach the best place to start?

Wind Range on Monday?

I was practicing up at Alameda on Monday (05-22-06). I am a beginner and trying to get a better idea of wind speeds, anyone know what the winds were clocked at from say 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. I sometimes see those wind graphs, that would be great if someone could post that.

Also, many thanks to all of you out there at Alameda, its amazing how everyone is willing to help (keeping things friendly and safe).

average_male, a lot of the people here have memberships to ikitesurf. You can signup for a trial account which I believe is for a week or a month?

http://www.ikitesurf.com

This is from the same company as ikitesurf, which currently has free access to some of the sites. I wouldn't rely on it, they will likely cut back on how many sites are available, but should at least be able to show you what was going on yesterday without waiting for the registration to be granted.

p.s. I think they have a referral program, if you sign up maybe mention 'Ollie_G' (right?) and hook BayAreaKite up ;)

Cool, got it. Looked to be about 13-18 MPH for that time interval.

Thanks for the heads up.
