Lost: GoPro HD on head strap at Sherman Island

Postby keithdkd » Sun Sep 11, 2011 7:53 pm

My GoPro head strap fell off after a bad jump, just a little bit north of the white buoy near the 2nd island. It has my email and phone number in permanent marker, but it might come off in the water.

I'm pretty sure it's lost forever, but I'm going to post anyway. Maybe it'll wash up somewhere.

I have seen and will order a orange foam floaty by go pro to make my go pro float. I hope you find yours and if you do get the floaty thing at:

Ya, they defiantly sink. I dropped mine while floating down the American river. We found it 30 minutes later at the bottom pretty much right below where it was dropped, and there was a strong current. It's not going to wash ashore. I'd suggest diving down with a mask right where you lost it if possible. It's probably still there.

Hm, would a mask be able to see anything in that water? I wonder how deep it is by that buoy.

That floaty thing would have helped, but it looks like it would get in the way of fixing the camera position. I already have trouble rotating the camera up enough.

I use a lanyard and tie it to my harness
When I use the headstrap mount
when its on my helmit I tie off to that
Same as when I mount it to a board
I tie it to something
