Spots near Santa Cruz

Just moved to the Bay Area and looking for best places to do kitesurfing near Santa Cruz. I'm looking for spots that are OK for learning wave riding and information how the winds are in those places during the summer and what kind of wetsuit to wear?
Contacts to local riders also appreciated and I prioritise kitesurfing over work ;)
