INFO NEEDED San Andreas, And mainland Colombia ???????

Post by craickite » Mon Sep 27, 2010 8:47 pm

Hello all,

I'm headed to San Andreas, Columbia with a group of friends for the Holidays. im there for about 10 days.
Does anyone have any info on the place for late dec/ early Jan...
also which city in colombia would be a good stop over on the way there..

So Basically the plan so far is to fly into Cartagena or Bagota , Stay a couple of nights to celebrate my 31st birthday, fly to San Andreas, stay 10 days, back to Cartagena or bagota, send my friends who dont kite back to San fran and go on an adventure myself for a week or two....have no idea where yet...

flights to Venezuela / Brazil seem quite expensive from here so will need to stay in Colombia probably..im on a fairly tight budget so hostels, beans and rice for me..

Anyone have any ideas for me????????????????

any info or advice for an Irish kiter would be much appreciated and NO i wont bring back any packages to San Franciso for you :? !!!

Thanks
F

I buddy of mine used to live down there I'm not sure where he is now. His name was Pablo good guy always up for the party. He Loved to ge uh huh boost High, big airs, loved boards offs, or off boards which ever.
I'm sure if you ask for "Pablo" I (just can't remember his last name) down there people will now him.

If you find him a good time is sure to be had only thing is I hear he is kinda hard to track down these days.

Good luck on your quest and be sure to line up the whole trip well. The prep is crucial

Got the ticket booked..its on..3-4 weeks in Colombia...

plans changed a little bit though..

not going to be doing san andreas is after all..

going to spend most the time in and around cartagena..party it up between Christmas and new years ,do a 3/4 jungle hike ..hopefully wont meet any FARC Militants..get a couple of days diving and the rest kiting at nearby islands..
should make for an interesting vacation..

and paddy i met that pabalo guy in san fran a few years ago and had a bit of a falling out with him..i sure if we can read between the lines we will work it out.

Did this trip two years ago. It was awesome. Cartagena is a great city with lots to do. Went diving out on Rosario islands, decent visibility.

Also travelled east to Venezuela border looking for wind, there is windguru forecast info for down there. Also decent wind by airport in town. Lots of kiting opportunities for the time you are going. I stayed far east in National Park Tayrona, this is where FARC kidnapped those people ten or so years ago. I have travelled to many rainforests around the world, this place is pristine, very little tourism. Most people still kinda freaked out about guerilla warfare type stuff.

PM me with any questions. Spirit Air has a cheap flight direct from Miami.
