Diminican Republic OR Puerto Rico which one is cheaper?

Im planning to travel to either Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico for the first week of January and i wanted know which one would be cheaper for kiteboarding. i can take my own gear or rent if its not too expensive. Im going to be traveling alone.

any tips would be greatly appreciated, are there any places like a dorm or something i could get a bed at just want to concentrate on kiteboarding while im there

No question DR is cheaper. PR is California prices.

I wasn't under the impression that either place was a good place for wind this time of year...but when you do go, i'd LOVE to hear the report. I've been to both, and PR is pretty expensive.

PR might have better wind this time of year, but i'm no authority on the subject.

As far as the wind goes it should be okay sounds like i'll be on 13-15 which isnt ideal but im not complaining.

Does anyone have any recommendations about places to stay in both PR & Dominican (on the less expensive side)?
